Alemany Marching Band won 1st Place and the DrumLIne Percussionists placed 3rd at the November 8, 2008 - Granada Hills 26th Annual Field Competition. Musicians, way to ROCK!

Charlene Flores qualified for the next round of C.I.F. competition by taking 4th place overall with All Mission League Honors!
The Boys Varsity Team will also be competing at the C.I.F. Prelims on November 15th.: Amrah Hubbard - Justin Talavera - Christian Estrada - Brian Wisdom - Matt Clutario - Andrew Noyes - and Marcelo Rosales.

The Alemany JV Girls Volleyball had a tournament this weekend at Van Nuys High School. They earned a 2nd place finish out of 20 teams! The Warriors were undefeated (10-0) going into the championship game and lost to Taft HS in a close match 26-24. The girls played so well this weekend and Coach Pruitt and Coach Macias are very proud of them!!! Great job ladies!!!!!

The defending 2007 Mission League Champions from Alemany start league play by defeating Chaminade HS 37-17. Malcolm Marable (11) rushed for 244 yards and four touchdowns in the win. Click Here for full LA Daily News article...

Danielle Ross won Third Place in the Freshmen Equitation Event for Interscholastic Equestrian League (IEC)

The Girls basketball team participated in the Dribbling for the Cure on Sunday, October 26th. Jackie Sanchez organized the event with her team and coach and she collected $1500.00 on her own. Overall the team collected $1800.00. All the money will help with pediatric cancer research and Children's Hospital of L.A. The girls dribbled their basketball around the USC campus with the Women's and Men's basketball team. There were numerous people there to support the same cause as well as several cancer survivors. The girls would like to thank everyone that helped and donated for this event. The girls look forward to participate in the same event next year.

SCORES: 25-19, 28-26, 11-25, and 25-19. Theodora Papadopoulos contributed 7 kills, 5 aces, and 3 blocks; Danielle Shoemaker added 7 aces, 3 kills and 6 digs; Cristal Sanchez helped with her 2 aces and 4 blocks. Stefanie Delgado also contributed a very consistent game with 4 kills and 4 blocks, and more importantly, some very smart plays when her team needed a momentum shift. The ladies played phenomenally as a team, with every single player, from those on the bench to those on the court, helping to break the league losses. Coach Macias is very proud of their dedication and motivation to turn the program around. GREAT JOB WARRIORS!

The Warriors will defend their 2007 Mission League Championship starting this week as they begin league play (Friday night @ Chaminade HS)

The girl's golf team is holding a fundraiser for the Children's Hospital in downtown L.A. on Monday 10-27-08. They are asking for students and staff to donate $2 and they will be allowed alternative dress. All money collected will be presented to the Children's Hospital toy account that allows a child from the hospital to receive a toy in the name of Bishop Alemany High School. If there are any questions please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Keller.

Michael Rodriguez ('08) earned the scholarship because of his participation in many programs, including the National Honor Society and California Scholarship Federation. Michael also volunteered in his community, mentored incoming students at Alemany, and competed in water polo and swim.Michael is attend USC as a Computer Science/Engineering major.

We won our first match of the season yesterday against FRSH and are oficially 1-0 in league. We won 9-9 (81-75 in games) and Mallorie and Anne Marie each went 3-0 to contribute 6 of our 9 points.
Natalie Shideh, Anna & Monica Erives and Jen M & Chloe each won a point to (the latter 2 are doubles teams) to tie it up and it was Natalie's victory at the end that sealed up the win for us!

Bishop Alemany High School’s Assistant Director of Activities and Student Government (and Dance Team Teacher/Coach) was honored with the Cardinal’s Recognition of Ministry Award for her excellence in service and dedication to ministry in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. On September 27th , she was honored at a special mass at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels celebrating young adults from parishes and organizations throughout the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Congratulations Ms. Wilson – You make us very proud!

Following touchdown runs by senior quarterback David Metcalf (12yds) and junior running back Malcolm Marable (2yds) in the first half, and Metcalf’s completion of a 17yd touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter to senior Chris Gant, Alemany’s defense tightened up in the final minutes to preserve the win for the now 2-0 Warriors.
