The Social Studies Department is committed to the academic and personal achievement of each student through learning about history, government, economics, psychology, sociology and law. We prepare our students to take their place as adults in society, ready to intelligently exercise the rights and responsibilities of citizenship. We also help prepare our students to succeed in their college studies. It is expected that each student will acquire knowledge of the past, understanding of the present, and a conviction that they can help influence and shape their future and the future of the world in accordance with the guidelines established by the Christian principles of peace, love and justice. With the assistance of our teaching and learning experiences, we trust that Alemany graduates will be inspired by excellence, empowered to succeed, and committed to serve their communities.
