Attention SENIORS: Important Notes From The Counseling Department

SENIORS:

CSU Placement Tests

For those who have been admitted to a CSU (or believe they will be admitted to a CSU) it is important to take the English Placement Test (EPT) and the Entry Level Math Exam (ELM). Students will not be able to register for any classes for the fall if they have not taken these tests.  Certain classes may fill up before they can register.  To find test dates and locations log on to www.ets.org/csu or visit individual CSU websites for specific listings.

College/University Financial Aid Offers

You may be receiving financial aid offers from different colleges.

Keep the following in mind when making your final decision:

·         Look carefully at your award letters – compare each award letter so you can see how their offers measure up!

·         Compare loan offers – interests rates, how interest compounds and repayment terms vary widely from loan to loan

·         Compare the terms of eligibility – the terms of your grants or loans may change in subsequent years (e.g. grants might be replaced by loans) so compare affordability of aid offers over time

·         Pay attention to the real bottom line – the school with the lowest cost of attendance may not be the most affordable depending on the type of aid offered by each school

In order to honor the graduating seniors and their families, we are listing college acceptances.  Material that is not submitted cannot be recognized at the time of the graduation exercises. Please make sure that Mrs. García Word in the counseling office, gets a copy of each letter.  This will ensure that the information on college acceptances appears correctly in the graduation booklet.
