Mr. Peeters and his wife organized a collection that was originally indented to buy a biogas cooker for the group. The support was more than expected, and with all the donations the group was able to buy not one but two stoves and, in addition, two dairy cows as well. This will allow two families (of up to seven people each) to now have fuel for cooking by being able to use cow dung instead of wood. In addition the cows will produce more milk than the families will use and they will be able sell the surplus.
Mr. Peeters and his wife believe by supporting them the Alemany Community contributed not only towards the improvement of their economic situation and their quality of life but also supported Women's rights in the third world, as well as reducing the destruction of the environment through deforestation
