Bishop Alemany wins Academic Decathlon Regional Championship!

Led by seniors Jesse Randolph and Nicholas Pixley who each took 8 individual medals, Bishop Alemany’s Academic Decathlon team won the Regional title this weekend qualifying them to compete in the State Championship next month in Sacramento. The nine students on the team brought home a total of 42 medals individual medals - 14 gold, 14 silver and 14 bronze. They also won the SuperQuiz Team medal.

Varsity: Nicholas Pixley (12), Andrew Lopez (12), Luis Leal (11)

Jesse also set the high individual score for the evening with a total of 9,421 points out of 10,000 winning the individual Gold medal as well as six gold medals in Music, Science, Art, Math, Econ and Essay. Nicholas Pixley won gold in Music and Science. Jeremiah Prousalis, also a senior, took gold in Science and Speech and fellow senior Frank Brady took a gold in Interview. Sophomore Mitchell Riek took gold in Economics and Social Science. Junior Luis Leal took a gold in Math. Juniors Brandon Archeta and Patrick Tran added silvers in Math, Language and Lit, and Interview while Senior Andrew Lopez added silver in Art and Speech.

State Championship begins March 14th in Sacramento. Go Warriors!
