On Sunday, February 21, the Alemany Speech and Debate team entered four contestants in the annual Lion's Club "Student's Speaker's Contest" held at the Bistro Manila in Arleta. The subject of the speech was "Universal Health Care - How will it affect us?". The speech had to last 5-10 minutes and had to be supported by research and references. Alemany's representatives were Katarina Flavin, Irene Moreno, Pascal Varni and Mark Walther. There were many competitors from schools all over the valley and it was a hard fought battle. Once again, our team proved that we have one of the best programs around. All of our entrants won significant cash scholarship prizes and Irene Moreno won second place (the silver medal) and Katarina Flavin won third place (the bronze medal). Well done, Warriors!
