After enduring through five days of sleepless nights, stressing through long brainstorming sessions, and exhausting our creativity, the Alemany Yearbook Staff was rewarded for their hard work.
On the morning of our last day at Ignite ‘09 Yearbook Camp, we attended the closing ceremonies. As the schools with winning projects were called, we watched as the 3rd place schools’ students calmly approached the stage and accepted their award. About half way through the 2nd place merit awards announcements, the projector flashed: Bishop Alemany High School.
The students jumped out of their seats in astonishment, and their shouts could be heard throughout the room. The seventeen member crew rushed to the stage to receive the recognition, as they smiled, laughed, & made silly faces at the camera while our proud instructor, Mr. Apolinario, watched with pride.
This 2nd place Merit Award is the symbol of the yearbook staff’s drive to create a memorable yearbook. With their newly gained knowledge and confidence in their abilities, each of them is ready to begin the journey towards creating a tangible representation of the Bishop Alemany High School community.
