Dear Alemany Community,

We are reaching out to ask for support for alumna/ teacher/ singer/ friend Supanna Sakhakorn. Some of you are already aware that Supanna has battled breast cancer three times. Now she is facing a new fight with brain cancer. She recently suffered medical complications from the brain cancer and is in the hospital receiving treatments to begin a new battle.

During her years as an Alemany student, Supanna (’06) was a cheerleader and a member of choir. When she returned as a math teacher, she coached cheer, sang with choir, led Kairos retreats, and cantored music for school liturgies. Certainly, Supanna has touched many lives during her years at Alemany as a teacher, coach, singer, and friend.

These last few years have been very tough, as she is still fighting cancer. As you know, we have a tradition of inviting alumni to join the choir for our Christmas & Spring concerts, and this year is no exception. If Supanna was healthy she would be singing with us as she has done many times before. In addition to celebrating the Christmas season, we want to honor Supanna and fill our chapel with students, friends, family, alumni & Alemany staff.

The Choir’s annual Christmas Concert is on December 13th at 7pm, and it is FREE for everyone to come & enjoy. In the program notes, we will provide a QR code that will link to a GO Fund ME page for Supanna’s medical bills.

The Christmas season is a time for miracles, hope & blessings. As a community, what better way to show support for one of our own than to join together for music and the gift of giving whether that be in prayer or online donation. This would be just a small way for us to give back to Supanna for what she has done for our Alemany family.

Please, come to the chapel on Dec. 13th and help us honor Supanna and support her! Please share the attached concert flier with your friends and family and encourage them to come to the concert. Finally, please spread the word to other members of the Alemany community, especially the class of 2006, and encourage them to join us on Dec. 13th. 7pm-8:30pm
